At Tomorrow’s Voices, we
understand that not every child learns in the same way. Through careful
observation, assessment and interaction with each child, we can determine the
best way to teach them, and craft a service plan specific to their current needs.
Our Centre is unique in that a Behaviour Analyst provides program oversight and
develops all of our programs. The Analyst will conduct therapy when necessary
and provide modeling of therapeutic strategies to staff and parents. Our teaching methods are based on the science
of Applied Behaviour Analysis and include a variety of different teaching
procedures that are taught in both Intensive Table Top Teaching and the Natural
Environment. All of our services are provided in a safe, nurturing and structured
environment with a maximum of 1:2 staff to student ratio. Clients have the
option of coming to the Centre in variety of time lots per week. Sessions run
from 9:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 4:00pm on Monday – Friday.
Tomorrow’s Voices offers In-School and In-Home Consultative Services. It may be the case that a child does not need to receive services at the Tomorrow’s Voices’ Centre. Tomorrow’s Voices can work with your child in their school setting or in their home setting. Our Behavior Analyst will design an intervention plan that is based on the unique needs of your child. This may include an individualized programme description, programme goals, data collection systems, Behavior Intervention Plan, curriculum materials and other support tools to help your child be successful in their environment.
Beginning in the summer of 2009, Tomorrow’s Voices offered a summer camp experience for youth with Autism and other developmental disabilities. The summer experience is comprised of fun activities including art, music, dancing, academics, group games, behavior management, field trips, cooking activities, social skill development, science projects and a host of other enjoyable and therapeutic activities. The summer programme staff ensure that clients of any age are provided with a rewarding and fun summer camp experience that they will never forget. The programme runs from 9:00am – 4:00pm on Monday – Friday during the months of July & August.
Tomorrow’s Voices runs a Social Skills Group every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 9am to 1pm. This social skills development group is designed to build pro-social behaviors and increase social interactions, functional life and daily living skills of the youth in our program. Programming includes centre-based fun and therapeutic activities along with community outings and exploration.
